We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child and Adolescent Clinical Therapist specializing in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety to join our team. As an OCD and Anxiety Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment to individuals with OCD and/or anxiety. Your expertise in therapy techniques and interventions will be instrumental in helping clients manage and overcome their symptoms, fostering their overall well-being.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough assessments: Perform comprehensive evaluations to accurately diagnose clients and assess the severity and impact of symptoms on clients' daily lives. Utilize standardized assessment tools to gather necessary information.
  2. Develop personalized treatment plans: Collaborate with clients to establish individualized treatment goals and develop effective treatment plans tailored to their specific needs and circumstances. Incorporate evidence-based interventions for OCD and anxiety management into treatment plans.
  3. Provide evidence-based therapy: Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions for OCD and anxiety, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT). Apply specialized techniques to address obsessions, compulsions, and related anxiety.
  4. Conduct therapy sessions: Conduct regular therapy sessions with clients, utilizing a client-centered and empathetic approach. Employ a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities to promote symptom reduction, behavior change, and improved overall functioning.
  5. Monitor progress and adjust treatment: Regularly assess clients' progress towards treatment goals and make necessary adjustments to the treatment plan. Continuously monitor and evaluate treatment outcomes using appropriate measures and tools.
  6. Provide education and support: Educate clients and their families about OCD and anxiety, its causes, and available treatment options. Offer guidance and support to help clients manage their symptoms effectively, both during therapy sessions and in their daily lives.
  7. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team: Work collaboratively with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care for clients. Engage in case consultations and contribute to treatment planning meetings.
  8. Maintain accurate documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate records of client assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and any other relevant documentation in accordance with ethical and legal guidelines.
  9. Stay updated with current research and best practices: Stay abreast of the latest research, developments, and best practices in OCD and anxiety treatment and therapy. Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Licensure or certification as a mental health professional (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist), in the state of Minnesota.
  • Extensive experience working with individuals with OCD and implementing evidence-based interventions for OCD, such as CBT and ERP.
  • In-depth knowledge of OCD symptoms, diagnostic criteria, and treatment approaches.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to differentiate OCD from other disorders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Empathy, sensitivity, and patience when working with individuals experiencing distressing OCD symptoms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and engage in effective case consultations.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with current research and treatment practices in OCD therapy.


*If applicant does not have experience treating OCD and anxiety, they must be willing to participate in our OCD and Anxiety Training Program.
