Reporting Relationship

The Associate Attorney reports directly to the Managing Attorney.


Responsibilities

  • Manage cases from inception to resolution, ensuring compliance with legal and procedural requirements.
  • Meet with clients to understand goals, providing thorough advisement and consistent communication.
  • Conduct legal research, review case files, and gather evidence to build strong cases.
  • Supervises and provides direction to paralegals and legal assistants to ensure timely and quality work.
  • Represent clients during interviews, hearings, and court appearances as required.
  • Develop a case strategy and direct paralegals and legal assistants in executing tasks to meet case milestones.
  • Ensure all assigned cases are reviewed at least monthly, with regular client updates on progress.
  • Track and record billable hours, maintaining accurate case documentation for efficiency and transparency.
  • Prepare case memorandums and manage the timely closure of cases.
  • Conduct strategy sessions with potential clients to evaluate their needs and recommend appropriate services.
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding process with the firm.
  • Foster and maintain positive client relationships through effective communication and personalized service.


Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing with the State Bar Association (CA preferred)
  • Minimum of two+ years of experience in immigration law.
  • Fluency in Spanish (spoken and written).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience handling family-based immigration, asylum, removal defense, and other immigration matters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work with diverse clientele


Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $90,000, with performance-based potential up to $105,000.
