Vivid is working with an insurance company to hire the right engineer to work on a 12-month contract-to-hire position in Charlotte, NC. This position allows for a hybrid work schedule, with an average of 2 days a week in the office. No travel is required. Local candidates are preferred.


Responsibilities of the Cybersecurity Automation Engineer:


  • Development of automation solutions using Ansible Automation Platform, Python, YAML, JSON, and BASH to automate servers, routers, and firewalls to meet cybersecurity requirements and compliance standards.
  • Actively participate in daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual NERC CIP and TSA compliance tasks and audit activities, serving as a subject matter expert (SME) during audits.
  • Work with multiple IT/Cybersecurity teams to ensure that solutions adhere to compliance requirements defined by NERC CIP Standards and TSA Security Directives.
  • Assist with the review, evaluation, and root cause identification of deficiencies leading to compliance violations and/or near misses.
  • Participate in developing mitigation plans and completing corrective actions to address compliance violations and/or near misses.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of command syntax with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, Cisco ACI, Cisco Routers, Opengear remote management terminals, SecureCRT, Citrix Web Interface, and VPN with RSA tokens.


Requirements for the Cybersecurity Automation Engineer:


  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience, or High School/GED and ten (10) years of related work experience.
  • Ansible Automation Platform, Python, YAML, JSON File Formatting, BASH Terminal, Bitbucket, and Linux.
  • Hands-on knowledge of orchestration and automation tools such as Ansible.
  • Experience with Footprints, Service Now, Splunk, Tripwire Enterprise/IP360, Palo Alto Panorama, and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
