JOB DESCRIPTION

What they will be doing/working on:

In this role, the person will be responsible for managing construction contracts for a new power plant project. Their primary tasks will include reviewing contracts and design documents to ensure everything is in order, as well as responding to contractor questions and requests for information by collaborating with the engineering team to provide necessary answers. They will monitor construction progress through regular site visits to ensure that work meets contract terms and specifications. Additionally, the individual will coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to facilitate smooth communication and collaboration throughout the project. Keeping track of all contract-related documentation is essential, ensuring that everything is organized and accessible. Once construction is completed, the person will assist with commissioning and the final closeout of the project. Overall, this role combines construction management and project coordination, requiring both technical understanding and strong communication skills.

Must Have Skills:

  • 8-10 years of experience in Project Management and Construction Management
  • Organization/Documentation Controls skills
  • Understanding of project schedules, construction tasks


Contract Management skills

  • Managing contracts and maintaining strong communication with contractors and project stakeholders


Engineering Knowledge

  • Engineering disciplines, collaborate effectively with engineering teams, respond to technical contractor inquiries, and manage the technical aspects of project

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The client is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee the management and execution of major construction contracts for the plant Repowering project. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and that the project adheres to design specifications and timelines. The ideal candidate will have a blend of construction management and project management experience, along with strong organizational and communication skills.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Contract Management: Oversee multiple construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms, specifications, and project requirements.

Technical Coordination: Process and facilitate responses to contractor requests for information (RFIs) by collaborating with the engineering team.

Project Oversight: Monitor construction activities and progress on-site, ensuring alignment with project schedules and quality standards.

Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits (1-3 days per week) to oversee construction activities, address contractor inquiries, and coordinate project efforts.

Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and the project controls team to ensure successful project execution.

Documentation Control: Maintain accurate documentation of contract-related activities, including RFIs, change orders, and meeting minutes.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: 8-10 years of experience in project management and construction management, preferably in power generation or similar industries.


Education: A degree in engineering (ABET accredited preferred) or related field is desirable, but equivalent experience will be considered.
