Role Description

This is a full-time or part-time role as a Campus Minister to Grad Students and Faculty at the Ohio State University. Work with faculty and/or graduate students doing cutting-edge work in various fields at The Ohio State University. As a Campus Minister, you will build campus witnessing communities and serve the spiritual needs of graduate students and faculty members within InterVarsity's ministries. Equip them to explore the intersection of faith and work alongside other Christ-followers in the academy and professions. Encourage, challenge, and support Christians in the academy and professions to flourish in their God-given callings and live as redeeming influences in the academy and beyond. 


We have a long history at the University, with well-established ministries of which you could be trained to assume leadership. InterVarsity also has focused ministries reaching out to students within their unique contexts, such as international students, medical students, law students, LatinX students, Black Scholars and Professionals, and more. You could launch a focused ministry that you are passionate about This role is highly customizable to your passions and skills, and can be your sole focus or an accompaniment to your current primary occupation.


This is a hybrid role located in Columbus, OH. Some on-campus work is required, but all other work can be done remotely.


Staff ministers are considered campus missionaries, and as such will need to raise support to cover their salary and ministry expenses. InterVarsity offers extensive resources and support to assist staff in fundraising. Some grant funding may also be available for staff working with underserved groups or in other special circumstances. We also offer a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, retirement, vision, and mental health. Base salary listed could be higher for those with extensive specific experience.


Qualifications

  • Strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a passion for transforming lives through the gospel
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and build relationships with graduate students and faculty members
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with others
  • Understanding of and commitment to InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement (Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement).
