Location: Stafford, TX

Work Hours: Monday- Friday, Day Shift

Pay Rate: $60K-75K annually

Our client is a valve manufacturer located in Southwest Houston and they are seeking a SENIOR BUYER to join their team

This is a DIRECT-HIRE opportunity, with a salary rate starting at $65k annually

Seeking an experienced SENIOR BUYER specializing in machining services procurement. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a strong background in purchasing, inventory management, and supply chain management, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage procurement activities for machinery parts, including inventory replenishment, special orders, and supplier performance evaluations.
• Process purchase orders and requisitions for stock replenishment and special-order requirements.
• Monitor and manage open orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any delays.
• Evaluate vendor performance using supplier evaluation tools and build strong supplier relationships.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure optimal supply chain flow and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Review slow-moving and excess inventory to determine reconfiguration or substitution options.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality management standards, and internal audit processes.
• Expedite open purchase orders to maximize stock availability and on-time delivery.

The Experience:

• 4+ years of PURCHASING Experience; REQUIRED
• Microsoft Office and ERP Knowledge, REQUIRED

Our client is a leader in motion, technology, and instrumentation and sealing technology. They are seeking a motivated SENIOR BUYER to join their Houston, TX team.

The SENIOR BUYER is responsible for managing the procurement of materials and services to support quality, delivery, and cost requirements. This role involves planning, scheduling, and monitoring the efficient movement of materials through the production cycle to ensure timely shipment of products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare requests for quotations and submit purchase orders with approved suppliers.
• Issue purchase orders and agreements reflecting accurate price, schedule, terms, and conditions.
• Negotiate and settle claims related to damages, rejections, losses, returns, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
• Plan, schedule, and manage production capacity to ensure maximum on-time delivery.
• Maintain and ensure the accuracy of open purchase orders, quotes, work orders, and part master data.
• Resolve shipment quality discrepancies by mediating between suppliers and manufacturing teams.
• Participate in supplier site visits to evaluate production capabilities, performance, and delivery metrics.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities, offering suggestions for cost reduction and efficiency enhancements.
• Comply with Government/Commercial Practices Manual (GPM/CPM) policies and procedures.

The Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree; REQUIRED
• 4+ years of Negotiation Experience; REQUIRED
• Microsoft Office and ERP Knowledge, REQUIRED
