CYBERSHIELD is a cybersecurity professional services company based in Texas. We specialize in a wide range of services to our customers, including Strategy, Advisory, Consulting, MSSP (Managed Security Service Provider), and Program Management. We are currently looking for an experienced Information/Cyber Security Project Manager for our direct customer.


Role Description

The Project Manager is accountable for the delivery of Information/Cyber Security projects. The ideal candidate has a track record of successfully implementing complex technical projects across multiple cross-functional disciplines utilizing project management methodologies and change management best practices. This person must be comfortable with facilitation of group discussions, management presentations, and have a working knowledge of and a vocabulary for technology.

This position manages multiple individual projects of about $2-$4M or more in total cost. The level of internal visibility and influence is high. This position is highly cross-functional and will interact with executives and numerous management personnel while managing cross-functional project teams of as many as 20 people.


Work Location: Remote possible for the right candidate. Hybrid, 2 days onsite in Oakland, CA/3 days remote. Resource must be based in the SF Bay Area.


Accountabilities:

50% - Manage one large or multiple small/medium projects. Ensure the on-time delivery of all project phases. Surface issues clearly and immediately to management and document their resolution. 

50% - Ensure resources are properly allocated and committed to projects. Ensure deployments are fully managed from implementation planning through execution and post-deployment validation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Create, track, and status projects including: milestones, schedules, scope, resource plans, action items, issues, and cross functional dependencies

·        Ability to closely track and monitor finances to deliver project on or under budget; develop total cost of ownership and forecasted/monthly budgets for enterprise projects.

·        Uses software development skills to successfully implement small, medium or large-sized custom build projects from inception to transition while staying within budgetary guidelines.

·        Works well one-on-one or in a project team to influence decisions and assist group to come to consensus.

·        Detail-oriented use of project tracking tools and administration.

·        Acts appropriately according to defined process and procedures to resolve conflict.

·        Participates actively on project teams; identifies and seeks help to ensure that teamwork is encouraged.

·        Skilled at scheduling team resources and managing team issues without direct reporting authority.

·        Facilitates and provides effective communication between all project stakeholders.

·        Deals comfortably with senior management and can present and converse with people in positions of authority.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·        Responds with flexibility to change; takes action on what can be done and exhibits patience in the face of ambiguity.

·        Utilizes project management best practices; seeks out project management training and applies when relevant.

·        Able to read and understand vendor contracts, perform due diligence and proof of concept exercises, manage vendor relationships after consulting with management.

·        Able to develop thorough understanding of technology; knows vocabulary of basic technology discussions.

·        Transportation industry knowledge a plus; developing ability to grasp business functionality, flows and concepts.

·        Appropriate knowledge of MS Project, Excel, Word and Visio.


Qualifications

  • Strong Program Management and Security Management skills
  • Experience in Cybersecurity, Network Security, and Information Security
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in cybersecurity
  • Experience with risk assessment and mitigation
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or PMP are a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
