Job Title: OT Cybersecurity Specialist

Primary Purpose: Contribute to the effective operation of the Cybersecurity team by achieving milestones and objectives related to the assessment, implementation, and operation of technical and procedural controls. Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and resources within the cybersecurity infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Cybersecurity Technology Operation:
  • Maintain and operate cybersecurity technologies such as firewalls, endpoint protection software, and OT network monitoring tools.
  • Provide expertise in specific focus areas such as Risk Assessments, Controls Engineering, or Incident Response to enhance the security posture.
  1. Collaboration with Business Units:
  • Engage with different business units to understand their security needs and customize security solutions accordingly.
  • Ensure that security measures align with business objectives and operational requirements.
  1. Technical Troubleshooting:
  • Utilize knowledge of IT system functionality, architecture, and capabilities to diagnose and troubleshoot security-related issues.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to resolve complex technical problems.
  1. Competitive Analysis:
  • Conduct analyses of current and alternative cybersecurity technologies.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies that best suit the organization’s environment and requirements.
  1. Security Awareness and Guidance:
  • Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees about secure business processes and technical controls.
  • Offer guidance on secure architecture design and implementation.
  1. Threat Awareness:
  • Stay informed about evolving cybersecurity threats and industry best practices.
  • Implement mitigation strategies to address emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
  1. Procedure Development:
  • Develop and document procedures and guidelines for implementing and managing information security systems.
  • Ensure that procedures comply with organizational policies and industry standards.
  1. Metrics Development:
  • Create and aggregate metrics to measure the effectiveness of information security controls.
  • Monitor and report on compliance with information security policies and regulatory requirements.
  1. Miscellaneous Duties:
  • Perform other cybersecurity-related duties as assigned, ensuring they do not exceed 5% of total duties.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in the information security field.
  • Proficiency in at least one cybersecurity discipline such as risk assessment, incident response, or controls engineering.
  • Proven experience in completing security-related projects, including vendor selection, testing, implementation, and operations.
  • Familiarity with endpoint protection software such as Trellix and Microsoft Defender.
  • Experience in deploying and managing vulnerability management and logging agents.
  • Knowledge of firewall configuration and management, including security zone setup.
  • Experience in operational technology (OT) environments, including ICS/SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with SCADA network protocols and OT network monitoring tools like Dragos, Cybervision, and CyberX.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects.
  • Competence in maintaining and recommending operational cybersecurity tools.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Global Information Security Professional (GISP), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
  • Specialized cybersecurity certifications in areas like forensics and incident response.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish.

Work Schedule:

  • HYBRID: Work schedule includes a combination of onsite and remote work, typically requiring 2-3 days per week in the office.
