Job description:

The Senior Database Developer position is responsible for the design, development, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of database development in support of web applications for Sher-link projects, with a focus on Oracle database applications development, batch processing and reporting. Maintain and troubleshoot existing applications following standard coding practices and industry best practices. This role develops and maintains solutions for new requests for existing applications. The Developer resolves any issues dealing with performance for all code released to production. This position also assists with impact analyses of any changes made to the database objects. This role develops design documentation and maintains database versions of code with GIT.

The position requires participation in the complete system development life cycle including post implementation support. The Developer provides technical expertise to management, business users, and works closely with other developers by writing optimized SQL queries for integration with different applications.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions

Strategy & Planning

• Work with the business units to identify business requirements for requested projects.

• Identify the technical requirements of projects.

• Analyze all aspects of the projects.

• Provide feasibility and cost/benefit analyses responses for proposed projects.

• Plan and organize tasks, report on progress, coordinate with additional development teams.

• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.


Development & Deployment

• Perform complex programming assignments requiring an advanced aptitude of established programming standards, methods, and best practices.

• Design application and database components for development projects.

• Perform analysis of business models, logical specifications, and/or customer requirements to design and build Internet solutions utilizing multiple technologies.

• Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) and working familiarity with various databases.


QUALIFICATIONS

• Formal Education & Certification Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology field of study (e.g., Information Technology, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Systems Management, Mathematics) or equivalent experience.
