A construction contractor is looking for an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent for projects in Houston, Texas. The role requires a strong background in civil construction and experience managing large-scale projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage on-site construction for heavy civil projects, ensuring adherence to plans and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers for smooth project execution.
  • Develop and manage schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, safety, and quality.
  • Lead and mentor construction teams, promoting teamwork and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Communicate project status and risks to stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentation, including daily reports and material records.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction methods.
  • Proven track record managing large infrastructure projects (highways, bridges, tunnels, etc.).
  • Leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
  • OSHA certification preferred.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
