Senior Accountant Financial Reporting

Essential Duties / Functions
- Actively engages in month end and year end close activities including reviewing and analyzing financial data, statements, and reports to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
- Supports the interim and year end audit processes with the external audit firm. Assists in coordinating PBC and other audit requests. Works closely with external auditors on controls questions, issues, and deficiencies.
- Demonstrate understanding of accounting process and controls through work related to AFE’s, contracts, purchase orders, work orders, and work requests
- Work closely with the various teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Participate in the analysis of operational expenses, accruals, and stewardship reports from a financial perspective.
- Prepare monthly close tasks including, bank reconciliations, reviews and approves journal entries, account reconciliations/supporting schedules, etc. Prepare accounting entries for expense allocations, travel expenses, payroll expenses, etc.
- Maintain and enhance internal control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information.
- Fully supports the company’s goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities.
- Special projects as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
Minimum Experience Required Of The Position.
- 5+ years of financial accounting and reporting within the O&G market in compliance with US GAAP
- Experience in top ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4 HANA
