We are seeking a talented and motivated HVAC Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for sustainable building design, energy efficiency, and an interest in working on commercial properties, particularly within the healthcare and educational sectors. The position will focus on designing HVAC systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with New York State and New York City codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with the engineering team to design and develop HVAC systems for commercial properties, with an emphasis on healthcare and educational facilities.
2. Conduct detailed heat load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing to optimize energy efficiency and performance.
3. Select appropriate HVAC equipment and components for specific projects, considering factors such as cost, efficiency, and sustainability.
4. Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents using industry-standard software.
5. Ensure all HVAC designs comply with relevant building codes, local regulations, and safety standards.
6. Participate in project meetings and coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
7. Conduct site visits to assess existing HVAC systems, identify improvement opportunities, and provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases.
8. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and advancements in HVAC systems to provide innovative and cutting-edge solutions.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2. 0-5 years of relevant experience in HVAC system design and engineering.
3. Familiarity with New York State and New York City codes and regulations pertaining to HVAC systems for commercial properties.
4. Proficiency in using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or other HVAC-specific software.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
7. EIT/FE certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus, but not mandatory.
