Job Summary:

The Benefits Analyst is responsible for analyzing, implementing, and managing the organization's employee benefits programs. This role involves evaluating current benefit offerings, recommending improvements, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The Benefits Analyst will work closely with the HR team to provide employees with comprehensive and competitive benefits packages, while also managing the day-to-day administration of benefits programs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Benefits Program Administration:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other ancillary benefits.
  • Coordinate and process employee enrollments, changes, and terminations in the benefits system.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication of benefits information to employees.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Analyze benefits data to evaluate the effectiveness and cost-efficiency of current programs.
  • Prepare regular reports on benefit costs, utilization rates, and trends to assist in strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor and report on employee benefits usage and satisfaction.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Management:
  • Ensure benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA.
  • Assist in audits and filing of required compliance documents, such as Form 5500.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Liaise with external benefits providers and vendors to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Assist in the selection and negotiation of benefits vendors to optimize service and cost.
  • Employee Support:
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding their benefits, including answering questions and resolving issues.
  • Conduct benefits orientations and educational sessions to inform employees about available benefits.
  • Benefits Strategy Development:
  • Collaborate with the Benefits Manager and HR team to evaluate and design benefits packages that attract and retain top talent.
  • Recommend enhancements or changes to benefits programs based on analysis of trends, benchmarking data, and employee feedback.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: 3-4 years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR role.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and benefits administration software.
