Job Overview: We are in search of an experienced Estimator & Proposal Engineer for our Welding Division. Reporting to the Director of Processing & Estimating, you'll collaborate within our team to support North American programs and pursue new RFQ opportunities. This role demands a technical degree or a minimum of 5 years’ experience, along with proficiency in mechanical prints, Inventor/ACAD, detailed cost estimation, and assembly processing capabilities. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and respond to new project RFQs, customer inquiries, and engineering changes.
  • Compile program processes, layouts, and proposals, maintaining and updating the list of Welding opportunities for the department.
  • Participate in RFQ meetings with customers and technical reviews post-quotation submission.
  • Review and quote within provided customer specifications, balancing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on commercial requirements or project support.
  • Prepare detailed responses to RFQs and RFI’s, emphasizing the best technical and commercial solutions.
  • Attend sales and marketing meetings, as well as internal training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Processing & Estimating, occasionally working at customer sites.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated technical, proposal, and estimating expertise, ideally with 5 years in Engineering and Weld System Design.
  • Understanding of mechanical and controls concepts, with a track record in Engineering, Estimating, and Customer Designs.
  • Proficient in English with a collaborative mindset.
  • Must hold a Technical Welding Degree.
