A leading social services organization based in NYC is currently seeking Substance Abuse Counselors (CASAC/CASAC-T) for their programs in the Bronx. This organization strives to provide comprehensive support services within their community, and needs passionate candidates to join them in their mission. You would be tasked with completing substance abuse assessments and developing and implementing service plans. The base pay range for this position is $26 to $28 per hour. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of the offer. This is a true temp-to-perm role; you can gain access to company benefits, paid time off, and more perks once you transition


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial and annual substance abuse assessments including substance abuse assessments.
  • Collaborate with clients and staff in the development of the initial comprehensive service plans and plan revisions, including identifying mutually agreed upon long and short-term substance abuse related goals.
  • Provide individual, and group substance abuse counseling.
  • Advocacy and referrals to community-based substance abuse programs as needed.
  • Documents all services provided in a timely manner as required.
  • Participate in training, workshops, seminars and case conference as well as meetings was required.
  • Arrange for in-patient substance abuse treatment.
  • Educate clients and staff on harm reduction.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field
  • Valid CASAC or CASAC-T
  • Experience with individuals with HIV/AIDS, chronic mental illness, and/or chemical dependence and their families is a plus
