Position Summary


The Drainage Foreman is responsible for ensuring that everything goes smoothly at the construction site. They are the main point of contact between the construction workers and supervisors and report the progress of the project to superiors.

This position will oversee several subcontractor’s works, reporting directly to our Drainage and Utilities Superintendent.


If you have the ability to create your crew, it will be a PLUS.


The key details for this position:

  • Drainage pipe and structures installation (excavation, installation, backfill, elevation check).
  • Must have worked previously in FDOT projects.
  • Water pipe installation (potable, non-potable, force main, fittings installation, tie in to existing utilities)
  • High Preference to have worked previously in Collier County.
  • Dewatering of high inflow areas (pump installation and operation and dewatering arrangements).
  • Loader operator (ability to safely load/unload structures and pipe).
  • Excavator operator.
  • Works supervision, ensuring quality and safe work .
  • Materials supply (In all our contracts, Sacyr is responsible for providing the materials to the subcontractors.
  • The foremen will make sure they have the required materials in a timely manner and the operations have no interruptions).
  • Daily operations records (timesheets, issues, works out of scope...).


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates tasks for the day, creating schedules for workers, oversee quality of the site, and managing the budget.
  • Maintain daily reports, including manpower counts, equipment uses, materials received and daily production.
  • Develops work schedules for workers according to priorities and plans
  • Supervises all construction workers and monitors attendance of crew
  • Be the liaison between construction workers and supervisors
  • Peacefully resolve any emerging problems and issues between workers
  • Ensures that a project is adequately staffed
  • Assigns tasks to construction workers
  • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
  • Ensures that the project is staying on or under budget
  • Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
  • Independently follows the Superintendents directions, understanding and performing all required duties.
  • Commitment to the project; performing additional duties as required to assure project success
  • Motivates employees while being flexible yet disciplined.
  • Complete daily STAR (JHA)
  • Weekly toolbox meeting
  • Follow all company safety rules and policies

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to organize a work schedule
  • Ability to solve disputes between workers
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate
  • Deep knowledge of the construction industry and processes
  • Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints
  • Perform quality checks on construction equipment


Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. It is suggested that the employee is previously conditioned to experience long amounts of time outside in the physical elements, such as; heat, sun, wind, rain, etc. The employee will occasionally be exposed to dust and loud noises.

  • This position involves work at a construction site where duties will be performed outdoors and indoors.
  • Dexterity of hand and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other business machines as needed.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee can be expected to regularly stand, sit, walk, kneel, crawl, and climb.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Clear vision to read material tags, construction drawings, submittals, and RFI’s.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
