Our well-established, 20-attorney, AV-rated law firm is seeking an attorney licensed in North Carolina with expertise in transactional law (M&A and entity formation and reorganization) with 5+ years of experience. Related experience in commercial real estate and knowledge of transactional tax law is ideal. This is a lateral position in which the candidate must be capable of managing large transactions without requiring oversight; therefore, additional experience beyond the minimum stated is preferred. 


It is anticipated that the candidate will work in conjunction with attorneys in both our New Bern and Raleigh offices, serving our existing client base, which is located throughout eastern North Carolina, the Triangle area and beyond, as well as new clients.   


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·        Direct, hands-on client interaction

·        Managing client expectations

·        Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients

·        Drafting, reviewing and negotiating sale/purchase agreements and ancillary documents

·        Advising clients on transactional or corporate legal matters

·        Delegating tasks to staff and other attorneys, as necessary

·        Ensure compliance with all legal standards, applicable laws, regulations and company policies across areas of organizational responsibility

·        Maintaining accurate timekeeping and prompt billing practices


Required Qualifications:

·        Licensed to practice law in North Carolina

·        At least five (5) years’ experience in transactional law

·        Excellent writing and communication skills

·        Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task, prioritize projects and project needs

·        Detail-oriented


A mobile book of business is preferred, but not mandatory. Compensation package is based on experience and related factors and includes competitive benefits. Our Firm has offices in Raleigh, New Bern and Morehead City; the candidate can choose to work from the New Bern or Raleigh office. All inquiries will be kept confidential.


Candidates without the required experience will not be considered.
