Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Alpena MI

Duration: 13 weeks contract

Weekly Pay: $3200/week


Shift Notes: M-F 7a-5:30p or 8a-4:30p / Every Third Weekend with 4 hours on both Saturday & Sunday to cover inpatients / No Call Requirements (40 Hour Guarantee).


Weekend Requirements: Every third weekend with 4 hours on both Saturday & Sunday to cover inpatients.

On Call Requirements: No Call Requirements

This position performs cardiac and vascular diagnostic ultrasound testing such as Echocardiography, Vascular, and Transcranial Doppler. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating findings of diagnostic examinations using sonography as appropriate. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for daily operations of the ultrasound lab, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). The sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to pursue lifelong learning to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.


  • Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations according to defined imaging protocols for the specific needs of assigned neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies; observes sterile techniques; assists physician as needed.
  • Prepares equipment for ordered exam; transports patients as needed; explains procedure to patient; performs exam; records exam; consults with radiologist as needed.


SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of Experience - Required
  • Travel - Highly Preferred
  • GE Experience - Required


CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • ARDMS
  • BLS (AHA)
