Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Energy Portfolio Analyst for our prestigious client. This prominent organization seeks a dedicated professional to support its operations in the power markets. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in data analysis and energy markets to drive efficiency and accuracy in trading systems and market integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely receipt and accuracy of allocation data, addressing any issues with TSO/TDS and reflecting proper data in trading systems.
  • Support physical integration of new and existing North American power markets, including implementing power contracts and adhering to market rules and protocols.
  • Manage the REC settlement process and reporting by coordinating with power trading desks, Middle Office, and Back Office.
  • Reconcile group contracts and book actualizations in trading systems before settlements.
  • Report and explain P&L impacts to the Middle Office.
  • Produce key performance measures for asset imbalances and short-term activities for contract pricing back-testing.
  • Liaise with Trading Systems and IT departments for the development and testing of operational systems and tools.
  • Monitor industry developments and assess their impact on organizational activities and data management.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for operational queries and technical developments, providing necessary reports and statements.
  • Verify and validate accuracy of settlement documents related to shale play and manage dispute resolutions with associated parties.
  • Ensure accurate recording of physical gas transactions and maintain settlement models and tools with contractual costs and pricing structures.
  • Assist Accounting with aged debt reporting, resolution, and accrual analysis.
  • Maintain strong relationships with shale play producers and pipeline facilities, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Produce reports for regulatory, customs, and contract reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or Energy.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Gas and Power markets with a focus on data analysis.
  • Understanding of the North American power industry.
  • Strong operational and modelling skills with tools such as Alteryx, Python, and PBI.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities in energy markets and broader economic fields.
  • Ability to work autonomously while staying well-organized.
  • Must have experience with ERCOT.
