Kitchen Fire Suppression/Fire Extinguisher Technician

Masis Professional Group is assisting our client in searching for a Direct Hire, Kitchen Fire Suppression/Fire Extinguisher Technician.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections, maintenance and installation on fire extinguishers and emergency lighting for established customers on a scheduled basis.
• Prepare accurate and timely inspection and service reports.
• Must be able to communicate well with customers and explain the work being done and any repairs that are necessary.
• Maintain van stock quantities of equipment and keep it in a neat and orderly manner and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
• Inspecting and repairing pre-engineered restaurant fire suppression systems manufactured by ANSUL, Pyro Chem, RangeGuard, Kidde and Piranha.
• Performing on-site emergency troubleshooting of fire suppression systems.
• Thorough understanding of NFPA, manufacturer and local fire codes for restaurant fire suppression systems.
• Inspecting fire extinguishers and emergency/exit lights.
• Identifying NFPA code and non-conformance issues.
• Maintain proper documentation for all work performed.
• Perform fire marshal tests and inspections.

Experience, Physical, and Educational Requirements:

• Prior experience performing fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance.
• Two or more years' experience inspecting restaurant fire suppression systems preferred, but not required.
• Thorough understanding of NFPA, manufacturer and local fire codes for restaurant fire suppression systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21+ years of age, with valid driver's license & clean driving record.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be customer oriented.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. climb/work from ladders, work in confined spaces, and work over head.
• Must be able to work varied hours including early morning, occasional evenings, and weekend shift when needed.
