Blaylock Van, LLC, an established Minority Owned Business Enterprise broker-dealer specializing in banking and underwriting of municipal and corporate entities on a national scope, is seeking an Equity Trader / Specialist. This role is pivotal in executing stock trades, providing market information, and ensuring the smooth operation of trading activities. 


Responsibilities


· Execute stock trades efficiently and professionally.

· Provide current market information, including stock quotes, volume information, and symbols.

· Review intraday trading notifications for issues such as incorrect commission amounts, dropped orders, and

duplicated orders.

· Ensure accounts are balanced at the end of each trading day.

· Investigate short positions and manage communications related to corporate actions.

· Compile a daily equity trade blotter and complete the time & sales portion of the trade reporting

. 


Day-to-Day Activities


· Execute equity trades and review all brokerage equity and option trade approvals.

· Handle equity cancel rebills and process short rebate reports.

· Address all equity corporate actions instructions and manage cashless exercises for employee stock options.

· Process various administrative tasks. 



Qualifications


· Must have FINRA Series 7 certification.

· Must have FINRA Series 55 certification.

· Strong computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to multitask effectively.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize efficiently.

· Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral. 

· A keen attention to detail and the ability to identify risks and insufficient controls.

· Adaptability and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

· Self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are crucial. 



Preferred


· A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.

· At least two years’ experience on a trading desk is advantageous.

· Prior Experience with Trafix and Pershing systems.
