Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Mammography Technician to join our Imaging Center team. As a Mammography Tech, you will perform mammographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of medical conditions in patients. You will be responsible for operating mammography equipment, positioning patients correctly, and ensuring high-quality images are produced for interpretation by radiologists. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform mammographic imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
  • Position patients and adjust equipment to obtain optimal images.
  • Evaluate images for quality, ensuring they meet diagnostic criteria.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
  • Assist radiologists and physicians in image interpretation and patient care as needed.
  • Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives within the Imaging Center.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT certification in Mammography required.
  • State licensure as a Mammography Technologist (if applicable).
  • CPR certification (current).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in mammography or related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mammography procedures, equipment, and patient care principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with digital mammography and PACS systems.
  • Additional certifications such as ARRT in Radiography.
  • Knowledge of breast anatomy and pathology.
