Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of a variety of machine tools including CNC lathe, CNC Mill, Manual Mills and Lathes in a machine shop atmosphere. Washing, drying, counting and bagging of parts required. Must be able to follow instructions, complete In-Process Inspection Worksheets and proficiently operate machinery to produce parts according to required specifications. Performs general shop activities as directed.


 GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  

1.     Washing, drying, counting and bagging of parts.

2.     Operates machines utilizing prints, process instruction and/or verbal instructions as required.

3.     Performs all shop functions in a safe and professional manner.

4.     Achieves cycle times and productivity according to the work order schedule and notifies the Lead of the job/run of any defects as soon as they are identified.

5.     Identifies out of tolerance conditions and to report them immediately.

6.      Where required, maintains authorized production documentation, log book tracking, and other forms as assigned.

7.      Responsible to understand a first piece inspection record at the start of each work order and review the first piece approved prior to the start of production. 

8.      Performs and tracks periodic/daily maintenance of machines as directed.

9.      Understands and adheres to ALL Safety, Quality, and Company Operating Procedures.

10.  Provides input for method improvements to enhance production efficiency and promote product quality.

11.  Perform all other duties as assigned or directed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

 

·       Ability to interpret prints and processes and follow instructions

·        Good communication skills

·        Detail oriented

·        Self Starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision

·        Basic computer skills

·       Good follow through skills

·        Good problem solving skills

·        Good mechanical aptitude combined with mathematics

 


EDUCATION: High School/GED or higher.


EXPERIENCE:

Minimum one (1) year of machine operational experience and/or 1 year of vocational machine shop training preferred.


ENVIRONMENT:

Machine Shop – Indoors with climate controls (Air Conditioned).


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, squat, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with arms, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 30lbs. continuously. Must be able to hear and converse with co-workers. Job requires the regular use of magnifying assistance to view small parts and details of parts.


SCHEDULE:

Employee may need to be flexible to work the required shift of either first, second or some combination between the two.
