DESIGN ASSISTANT


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Design Studio and Gallery space specializing in Modern, organic custom furniture and lighting is seeking a Design Assistant. The position is primarily responsible for producing drawings and renderings in a timely and accurate manner with a keen attention to detail.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create technical drawings and renderings for a diverse range of projects, from customizations of existing designs to the development of new pieces.
  • Incorporate broad concepts, specific instructions, and feedback from the Lead Designer and Principal into thoughtful design proposals.
  • Assist in general design work, including sourcing and coordinating with external vendors and contractors-Assist production and sales team by completing tearsheet updates.
  • Schedule photo shoots for new and existing pieces
  • Create supporting design documents for our team. (i.e.) installation instructions, material guide, and collections sheets
  • Organize fabric samples, tools, and prototypes-Traveling to workshops, fabric houses, or vendors to retrieve samples and other miscellaneous items.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in Rhino
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • An appreciation and understanding of architecture, interiors, and design.
  • General working knowledge of construction and design
  • Strong aesthetic and presentation skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent time-management skills, independent drive, and the ability to understand and deliver an on-brand experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Curious and resourceful approach to learning
  • Strategic and solutions-based thinker
  • Highly organized
  • A consistently positive attitude displayed both as an individual and within a collaborative team of peers.
  • Ability to respond professionally to critical feedback and be proactive in seeking support and help when needed.
  • Must have a vehicle and driver's license
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Submit a portfolio showcasing your experience in design.

Our approach is to provide a full-service for our interior design and architectural professionals with the opportunity in customizing limited artist proof designs for various projects, while never losing the special, original design of the work. Our products range from Lighting, Furniture and Art.Our work environment is quite casual.
