We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Buyer to join our dynamic team. In this role you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing products and materials which meet our company's specifications, quality standards, and budgetary constraints. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of supply chain processes, strong Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Create daily purchase orders for both domestic and overseas materials
  • Track purchase orders, confirming receipt, and ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Purchase steel, coil, rods, and other metal products
  • Purchase factory equipment, tools, machinery, and replacement parts
  • Compare and evaluate price quotes from various suppliers
  • Prepare accurate cost savings reports using Excel
  • Resolve quality and accounting issues and identify inventory-related issues caused by supplier errors
  • Resolve non-conformity materials issues correctly and in a timely manner
  • Reconcile credit card statements
  • Book vendor shipments using a proprietary database
  • Send and answer emails as needed
  • Work on other tasks and projects as assigned

Qualifications

1. Minimum 5 + years of experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role

2. Strong proficiency in system and software skills including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint and the ability to learn new software quickly

3. Hands on Excel experience using basic commands (find, sort, filter, format, freeze rows and columns) as well as the ability to create basic formulas and pivot tables along with using V look- up

4. Excellent organizational and time management skills

5. Work experience in a manufacturing environment a plus

6. Strong understanding of inventory management principles

7. Excellent negotiation and communication skills

8. Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions

9. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
