Metallurgical Technician

Job Description:

Roles and Responsibilities:

Microstructure Analysis: Prepare samples, perform microstructure analysis of the sample, accept / reject the samples based on technical requirements provided. Expectation is up to 10 samples per day.

Bond Strength Analysis: Prep samples and perform bond bar pull to assess the bond strength of thermal spray coatings.

Micro Hardness Analysis: Prepare test samples and perform micro hardness testing.

Work Step instructions on h: Provide weekly status report on the following key elements: 1. Coating samples trends (by month; coating type; part family) 2. Lab equipment and supply needs (MTS support; 3D support; ordering supplies based on min/max) 3. Trend TAT on samples received to results provided 4. Confirmation safety procedures, processes, and procedures were achieved. 5. Confirmation established work area is clean and organized and areas are labeled appropriately 6. Risks / Areas of opportunities are identified|

Maintenance and EH&S Review: Complete the daily maintenance review and sign off on the weekly EH&S paperwork.
