Summary of Job and Key Accountabilities
- Strategic sourcing to support new and current products. Create and manage RFQs.
- Develop and maintain commodity strategies using long- and short-term initiatives.
- Negotiate: costs, payment & delivery terms, contracts, and large capital expenditures.
- Lead contract reviews and negotiations including as needed support from corporate lawyers and project managers for support.
- Develop long and short-term strategies to meet SGL’s financial targets.
- Develop and track cost saving initiatives, cost avoidance, and PPV.
- Evaluate and audit new and current suppliers. Ensure any corrective actions are resolved with the supplier and quality.
- Manage new supplier set up.
- Create purchase orders and maintain purchase orders with confirmations, correct costs, and correct delivery dates. Including past due follow up and order cancellations.
- Tracking of shipments into plant, updating delivery dates, following items through customs, etc.
- OMP planning and costing.
- Government reporting as required.
- Support storeroom, maintenance, engineers, and plant management requests.
- Review and process requisitions into purchase orders. Compare against quote Text, Price, INCOTERMS, Payment Terms and Delivery Time.
- Create and maintain material masters, info records and source lists for new and potential existing materials.
- Coordinate invoicing issues between A/P and Suppliers
- Process returns/credits.
- Maintain supplier relationship to ensure open communication on deliveries, quality issues, and pricing changes.
- Ensure proper signatures are on purchase orders, NDA, Safety forms, and any form requiring signature.
- Support BuyTogether topic.
- Request any necessary documentation (SCOCs, delivery notes/packing slips, certificates).
Skills
- Knowledge and understanding of SAP.
- Knowledge and understanding of Capex purchases and contracts.
- Knowledge and understanding of drawings, prints, & manufacturing.
- Knowledge and understanding of ASME certified steel fabricators, machine shops
- Knowledge of ISO certifications
- Proficient in Outlook, Excel, and word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem solver

- Ability to successfully prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Ability to coach/train new employees with their onboarding to the various procurement platforms
- Must exhibit a professional appearance and mature demeanor.
Experience
- 4-year degree from accredited university or college
- 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing including ability to read prints/drawings
- Engineering experience is a plus
Remote Work:
- On site with potential for Hybrid remote work after 1 year
- Preferred Skills
- Machining and Manufacturing background is a plus
- Familiar with 3D/2D CAD Software and TeamCenter is a plus
- Experience with pressure vessel manufacturing is a plus
