Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an in house Staff Attorney at the FOP/Ohio Labor Council, Inc. in Northeast Ohio. The Staff Attorney will be responsible for providing legal advice, conducting research, negotiating on behalf of the organization, and specializing in labor and employment law. The job requires travel in Northeast and central Ohio. The FOP/OLC represents a profession that works nontraditional hours. Therefore, our Staff Attorneys make themselves available as needed to the membership, which may at times include weekends and holidays. An understanding of Ohio's collective bargaining law , Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4117, is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Law and Labor and Employment Law skills
  • Legal Advice and Negotiation skills
  • Experience in conducting research
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong independent work ethic is required due to the hybrid nature of the position
  • Top notch organizational skills
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the state bar of Ohio
  • Relevant experience in labor relations is a plus
