We are seeking an AWS FinOps specialist to join our Fortune Top 70 telecom client and help implement automation and strategy around AWS Cost Optimization. You will be part of the new AWS FinOps team under the DevOps group that will be supporting and providing visibility across all teams utilizing AWS within their company. Your primary focus will be building automation around cloud cost optimization and best practices for tool implementation.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise around the Cost Optimization Pillar of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Automate cost compliance controllers using CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Provide documentation around automation uses cases using Confluence.
  • Drive cost optimization, cost tracking, and reporting.
  • Build best practices for implementing new tools.
  • Meet with stakeholders across the organization to understand AWS usage.
  • Present findings to leadership around AWS costs, usage, and value.
  • Report directly to the Senior Director of Engineering, Public Cloud.
  • Work closely with an AWS BI Analyst, as well as AWS Cloud Engineers/Architects.
  • Drive FinOps strategy for AWS environment consisting of over 300 accounts.


Qualifications:

  • Expertise in developing solutions for AWS cost optimization and automation.
  • Strong experience automating cost compliance controllers for large-scale AWS environments.
  • Experience using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Understanding of how to automate AWS Cost Explorer and other AWS cost related tools.
  • Documentation skills using Confluence to showcase automation use cases and how issues are being solved.


Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite, 2 Days Remote

Duration: 12-Month Contract-to-Hire
