Job Description
Our client is looking for a Programmer II to join their team This position will be responsible for working to analyze application needs/problems and provide solutions thru requirement analysis, system design and review, system architecting and implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Application Design, Development, Maintenance and Troubleshooting - Ensure standard development methods and procedures are employed and time commitments are achieved – experience with ITIL or CMMI preferred. Prepare project plans, schedule work assignments and delegate authority. Ensure development of documentation for programs and systems in a clear, complete and concise manner. Experience performing thorough code reviews and assisting in systems implementations and testing.
- Coordinate technical and business help with users in the resolution of systems problems and inquires.
- Application Maintenance and Troubleshooting - Monitor application status and perform necessary administrative configurations to achieve best response time and reduce or eliminate unnecessary or accidental shutdowns. Examine custom applications developed to determine overall integration and compatibility with the network and other programs; Respond to and resolve issues that arise with applications by researching the request, estimating time to complete, changing the necessary code, testing, and implementing.
- Applications System Architecting, Information Security and Review – Architect applications system to ensure optimal performance, best user experience and maintain high availability for mission critical applications. Work with IT information security and management team to understand information security requirements and follow industry best practices to safeguard Non-Public Information entrusted to IT. Review applications and operational deployments to identify system security vulnerabilities and present ideas on system improvements.
- Project Management - Develop necessary project plans to ensure timely and efficient completion of assigned projects. This includes providing time estimates, tracking statistical data, performing research, outlining project tasks and developing necessary management reporting. Provide support to less senior team members on preparation and execution of an effective project plan.
- Communication and Collaboration - Provide regular and timely project status updates to management. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders. Effectively communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences. Effectively communicate with Business Analysts and other teams to ensure a collaborative environment.
- Cross Training - Participate in cross training to ensure departmental goals and objectives are completed. This includes coaching lower lever programmers and providing training to other IT staff members on application development and processes, as well as receiving training on other IT responsibilities.
- Skill Development - Remain current on development tools, standards and processes, data transmission standards and practices available in the industry to take advantage of leading-edge technology. Attend training courses, seminars and conferences designed to build knowledge of the same.
Top skills you need to have:
- Must be able to obtain 6C security clearance
- Tech Stack – Must have experience with C# .NET 6 or higher and RESTful services, familiarity with Angular JS (preferably versions 15 or 17). Experience with Git and DevOps are also strongly encouraged. Should be able design software systems with various Microsoft technologies. Should be able to review infrastructure for any issues and recommend solutions. Monitor application architecture and ensure appropriate implementation of all solutions. Should have experience in Web Form as well as MVC.
- SQL Development – Must have experience in developing, testing, and maintaining SQL queries, and strong Skills with SQL Server, particularly stored procedures. Should be able to design and implement solutions that scale to meet business needs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems from a four-year college or university. Requires a minimum of 4 years in technical.
