JOB OVERVIEW:


This position is responsible for the collection and analysis of commodity risk management data used in the financial decision making and reporting process. Duties include assembling data and presenting detailed reports on commodity risk positions for inputs for the oils, grains, and energy inputs for the ACH manufacturing and sales functions. This role will work with market data providers and economic inputs from the ACH financial team to compile and report net exposures to commodity price fluctuations and the hedging mechanisms used to reduce or offset those risk positions. This position would have broad support responsibilities to collaborate with the financial and accounting teams to provide transparency into net commodity exposures and forecasted impact on ACH costs and financial reporting.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


Responsible for maintaining Commodity Risk Position Report

  • Assembling and calculating net exposure including flat price and basis positions based on sales and production planning inputs
  • Assembling coverage positions including exchange traded futures and options, physical flat price, and basis coverage, and over the counter swap positions
  • Deliver summarized report daily for decision making and financial reporting utilization


Data collection, calculation, and summary reporting

  • Collect data from commodity market exchanges, brokers, banks, and economic research vendors
  • Analyze and provide charts, tables, and summarized documents as requested including price history, forecasts, and financial impact of company positions


Supplier contract management

  • Input vendor contracts into SAP and supporting files for proper position reporting
  • Mange pricing updates and communications with broker and vendors to document and validate good receipt and invoicing support


Futures Exchange Execution and Support

  • Provide secondary execution role for commodity futures and options through executing broker as guided by Director, Commodity Procurement & Risk Management, and approved leadership; Execute initial hedging positions, liquidate and offset positions on a monthly schedule
  • Facilitate exchange for physical pricing activities with suppliers
  • Create daily futures documentation for external and internal confirmation and input
  • Enter all transactions into ACH Hedge System and daily reconciliation with ACH Finance on a periodic basis
  • Performing daily brokerage reconciliation and communicate resulting wire transfers and supporting documentation internal compliance reporting


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, or business preferred. Minimum of three to five years of work experience in similar commodity analysis or execution may be substituted.
  • Three to five years' experience in commodity related purchasing or finance within a CPG preferred company.
  • Strong skill level in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP
  • Experience using commodity trading and reporting platforms; BarChart, Bloomberg, Eikon, ProphetX, etc. is very helpful but not required
