Heavy Civil Construction Project Superintendent

KC Construction Co. is a leading heavy civil contractor specializing in dam rehabilitation and flood control projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic States. We are actively seeking a full-time Project Superintendent to join our team in Eastern Pennsylvania. We offer great benefits, strong teammates, and the ability to work on some of the area’s most prestigious projects.

The Site Superintendent will oversee the daily construction activities at a work site. You will be responsible for the overall progress of the project as well as coordinating and scheduling in-house manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors. Projects range from $1 million to $20 million. 

SALARY: $85k-$120K Depending on experience.

At minimum, additional duties include:

·      Coordinate, plan, and direct all work at the assigned job site to ensure the project is being completed in accordance with plans and specifications.

·      Effectively communicate and maintain productive relationships with project owners and engineers.

·      Monitor work practices and safety controls for conformance with OSHA regulations.

·      Perform JHA’s and toolbox talks with in-house crews and subcontractors.

·      Assist project manager in preparing and updating project schedule.

·      Maintain and submit timesheets and daily reports utilizing HCSS Heavy Job software.

·      Supervise and direct the work of in-house foremen and/or labor.

·      Supervise and schedule work performed by subcontractors.

·      Schedule material deliveries from vendors.

·      Schedule and supervise the proper use of company equipment.

·      Communicate and coordinate needed equipment service and repair with equipment manager.

·      Prepare and distribute two-week look ahead schedules.

·      Support and attend project meetings.

·      Assist project manager with RFI, potential change orders, and monthly progress billing.

·      Maintain accurate, complete, and organized project files.

·      Be prepared to present current job status to client, company stakeholders, and project team.

Qualifications:

·      10 years’ experience in construction with a minimum of 3 years supervising similar type work.

·      Experience with earthwork and underground utility work.

·      Must understand plans and technical specifications for heavy civil work.

·      Ability to layout work.

·      Understands project cost control.

·      Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in heavy construction work.

·      Know, understand, communicate, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

·      Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to the work schedule.

·      Ability to lead project field team in an organized and efficient manner.

·      Must have strong organizational skills.

·      Must be able to pass a physical and drug screen.
