VDC Coordinator

Bald Hill Builders, LLC. is looking for a team orientated VDC Coordinator to join out administrative team with preconstruction and manage the planning, visualization, and computer modeling of building projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee trade coordination and project management for multiple projects, including coordination with design consultants and subcontractors to anticipate and mitigate conflict and ensure successful project completion.
• Plan and lead project kick-off meetings with subcontractors and design support teams to implement the BIM / Coordination execution plan.
• Conduct frequent project coordination meetings and periodic site visits.
• Work through clash resolution with subcontractors, consultants, and project team to establish coordination drawings and models.
• Attend and assist with conducting project coordination meetings with the MEPFP Project Manager
• Periodically attend and monitor project meetings.
• Periodically perform site visits to track progress and verify the coordination model followed.
• Understand the VDC scope of work for the subcontractors on the project and ensure it is carried out.
• Support project teams through the development of 2D, 3D [and if applicable, 4D, 5D & 6D project requirements] coordination such that it drives productivity and project schedule.
• Manage the design and construction coordination across disciplines.
• Coordinate with the project team to assist in the management of model production (including corridor ceiling coordination, access panels, wall penetration details as they relate to NFPA and sustainable goals, etc.)
• Collaborates with users, subject matter experts, and project stakeholders.
• Manages external consultants.
• Coordinate with the project team to assist in the management of model production.
• Lead project VDC implementation efforts
• Works with Architects and Engineers to establish a baseline project model.
• Responsible for maintaining updated model based on Field Bulletins, Addenda, and Sketches, including responsible subcontractor/consultant updates.
• Generate and coordinate with subcontractors and consultants as necessary to produce applicable project closeout documentation.

Organizational / Procedural / Technology:

• Establish, maintain, and update company best practices for Coordination procedures.
• Manage the development of Project Coordination Execution Plans
• Responsible for communicating system improvements, updates, and process changes to the organization.
• Develops and maintains applicable organizational SOPs relating to Coordination.
• Develop and maintain the VDC technologies and processes.
• Documents detailed process workflows to improve company coordination procedures.
• Train project team in the management and use of electronic BIM construction information technology
• Manages the ongoing support of corporate construction technology software and solutions.
• Source, evaluate, and manage the development of corporate construction technology hardware, software, and training programs (including making recommendations to leadership on new systems)
• Participates in evaluating new and upcoming construction and VDC technology.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or construction related field, or equivalent
• 3-5 years’ experience with AutoCAD modeling software programs (Navisworks, Glue, Collaborate, etc.)
• Experience collaborating with Contractors / Subcontractors to work through Clash Resolution
• Experience producing coordination drawings, penetration drawings, sleeve layout drawings.
• Familiarity with Federal, State, and Local Building Codes
• Familiarity with concrete, steel, and MEP/FP trades and methods
