The Assyrian Cultural Foundation Fine Arts Program is designed to help foster an Assyrian American community that is rich with social and intellectual diversity. Our programs are designed to give our students an intensive professional education in his or her artistic craft, and to prepare each student with a solid foundation in the arts. Our courses include the practice of various mediums.


Our goal is to identify Assyrian Americans with exceptional talents at an early age, and enable them to engage their talents to become effective cultural leaders. We strive to empower Assyrian students and provide them with the tools they need to excel in pursuing artistic studies and careers. Our mission is to produce excellent Assyrian American artists.


Position Overview: We are looking for a reliable and experienced weekend art teacher to join our team. You will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging fine art lessons that help our students to advance their skills and discover their unique artistic perspective. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about art education and wants to make a positive impact for children in an underrepresented community.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Saturday art classes between the hours of 8am and 5pm
  • Develop and implement art curriculum that aligns with educational standards and promotes artistic development
  • Teach various art techniques and mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their artistic skills
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore their creativity
  • Provide support and assistance for art events, exhibitions, and field trips for students
  • Collaborate with fellow art teachers and aid with substitution on occasion


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Visual, Fine, or Studio Arts (Painting, or Drawing), Art Education, or related field
  • 1-2 years teaching experience to students between the ages of 7-17
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in various art mediums and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Passion for art education and a commitment to fostering creativity in students
