Job Description

The Virtual Card Sales Engineer will be responsible for selling virtual card products to commercial clients. They will coach and train existing sales staff on selling virtual card products. They will need to have both excellent sales skill and prior experience in training other sales professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of virtual card products and be familiar with commercial clients’ accounts payables processes. They must have an in-depth knowledge of virtual card product technology and understand its integration with client’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. This role requires excellent communication skills, collaboration skills, and a goal-driven mindset.


Key Responsibilities

Consultative Selling:

Sell virtual card products to commercial clients

Uncover client needs, challenges, and opportunities with respect to the virtual card products and present solutions to clients that address their needs

Understand and articulate the benefits of virtual cards products to the clients

Quantify the value and differentiation of the solutions for clients

Explain the implementation process and timeline to clients

  • Foster collaboration with multiple stakeholders within and outside the organization


Identifying Opportunities:

Collaborate with the existing sales team to analyze data, identify potential clients for virtual cards and build a sales pipeline

  • Prioritize opportunities

Identify the client decision-making stakeholders and processes


Conducting Training:

  • Improve the virtual card sales skills of the existing sales team through job shadowing, providing feedback, and coaching
  • Review existing training material and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with client training teams on the delivery of sales training focused on virtual card sales
  • Train the sales team on the specifications of the flag file, Accounts Payable (AP) files, supplier matching services, integration with ERP systems, and supplier enablement


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial card sales, with an excellent understanding of virtual cards
  • 3+ years of consultative selling experience
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and train other sales professionals on selling virtual card
  • Strong understanding of the accounts payable process
  • Exceptional client-facing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience with ERP integration

Familiarity with transferring electronic files securely through SFTP

  • Robust analytical skills to analyze data and identify potential clients
  • Goal-oriented, collaborative, and self-motivated mindset
  • Willingness to learn new skills and technologies


Desired Qualifications

5+ years of virtual cards sales experience

3+ years of client facing experience

Prior experience in conducting sales trainings
