Shredder Supervisor Overview

Responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the shredding processes, partnering with the Shredder Manager and General Manager. Oversees daily shredder activities, including operational efficiency, maintenance, employee supervision, and achieving production targets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe work environment for employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Oversee safety, security, and training for all shredder operations personnel.
  • Collaborate with leadership on operations, maintenance, and environmental health and safety.
  • Manage production and maintenance scheduling to meet goals and minimize downtime.
  • Lead, mentor, and train shredder staff.
  • Handle daily inspections, reports, and inventory management.
  • Assist in budget preparation and capital expenditure recommendations.
  • Serve as a backup for Shredder Manager and General Manager as needed.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (Associate's or Bachelor's preferred).
  • 2+ years of shredder operations experience in the scrap metal industry.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and safety management skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and PLC systems.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) skills are a plus.
