Dev Ops Engineer

The Dev Ops Engineer (DOE) at LS Direct plays a key role in optimal delivery of computing resources to LS team members and clients. The DOE will be instrumental in deploying automation to increase system reliability, uptime, monitoring and deployment efficiency. The DOE will work with cross functional teams to deliver optimal solutions in a fast-paced dynamic environment.


Responsibilities

· Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of GCP cloud-based production system.

· Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of GCP production systems.

· Management of creation, release, and configuration of production systems.

· Evaluation of new technology alternatives and vendor products.

· System troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms.

· Pre-production acceptance testing for quality assurance.

· Provision of critical system security by leveraging best practices and prolific cloud security solutions.

· Providing recommendations for architecture and process improvements.

· Definition and deployment of systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring on GCP platform.

· Designing, maintenance and management of tools for automation of different operational processes.

· Responsible for the Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) automation infrastructure.

· Developing and improving standards for security (via security as code) across a continuous delivery environment and cloud-based production deployments

· Creating and revising documentation.


Skills

· Over three years of experience in provisioning, operations, and management of GCP environments required.

· Demonstrated competency with the following GCP services: IAM, BigQuery, AppEngine, DataProc, Compute Engine/VMs, Cloud Storage, Composer, VPC, and CloudSQL required.

· Experience in elastically scaling system resources required.

· Experience in code development in Python or at least one other high-level programming language required.

· Knowledge of operating system administration required.

· Experience in creation of highly automated infrastructure required.

· Comprehensive knowledge regarding contemporary processes and methodologies for development and operations required.

· Strong understanding of how to secure GCP environments and meet compliance requirements required.

· Clear written and verbal communication required.

· Manage your own time and work well both independently and as part of a team required.

· Hands of experience with terraform of other infrastructure automation technology preferred.

· Experience with Linux and Windows Server administration preferred.

· Strong working knowledge of CI/CI Pipelines preferred.

· Experience with modern data platform best practices a plus.

· Experience with Office 365 Administration a plus.

· Experience with DBT administration a plus.

· Experience in deploying, managing, and evolving Agile methodologies a plus.

· Database and/or Direct Marketing experience a plus.
