The Sr Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for investigating, justifying, trouble shooting, selecting, correcting, implementing, and/or debugging manufacturing processes, equipment, and products. Also responsible for identifying product development, cost reductions and productivity improvements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Interface between Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality and Production as needs dictate.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and manufacturing of prototype parts.
  • Ensure that robust product designs and practical part prints are developed and implemented.
  • Assist the customer during the testing and evaluation stage of the development cycle.
  • Assist the Process Engineer with process designs and the Product Engineer with equipment needs evaluation and recommendation.
  • Coordinate sample runs and data analysis efforts to ensure that robust and properly targeted processes are developed.
  • Ensure timely and successful PPAP submission to the customer.
  • Support continuous improvement and problem resolution efforts once production status is achieved.
  • Capable of designing & fabrication of handling equipment/automation.
  • Adapt new technologies into manufacturing processes to improve workflows.
  • Able to lead and manage projects both internal & external from start to finish.
  • Effectively release manufacturing control documents to production.
  • Lead problem resolution efforts during initial production stage.
  • Mentor Die Setter team to develop skills and abilities.
  • Potential to manage/lead other engineers.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Formal qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Operations or related field preferred
  • Three (3) to five (5) years previous automotive manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of PM and LEAN manufacturing processes
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years 3D CAD design experience.
  • A working knowledge of statistical techniques, data analysis and root cause analysis
