Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineer to work in Port Arthur, TX, for an initial 6 month assignment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and design electrical systems for refinery operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Create and update electrical schematics, drawings, and documentation.
Power Systems Management:
Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of power distribution systems.
- Conduct load flow studies, short circuit analysis, and coordination studies.
- Ensure the reliability and efficiency of power systems.
Project Management:
Lead and participate in engineering projects from concept to completion.
- Prepare project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, mechanical engineers, and operations staff.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Provide technical support for the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
- Conduct root cause analysis of electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all electrical systems and equipment comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Participate in safety audits and inspections.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within a refinery or similar industrial environment.
- Proven experience with power systems design and maintenance.
- Proficient in electrical design software and CAD tools
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE).
