About the role:

The global role of the External Funding Payment Specialist is to coordinate and manage the external funding request payments for the US (donations, grants and sponsorships) including but not limited to the following, as applicable, processing payments for approved requests, engagement with internal and external stakeholders (HCPs, HCOs, Medical, Sales), monitoring receipt of payments by the third party organizations, collecting and processing budget information, and acting as a central point for stakeholder queries.

Who you’ll work with:

This role includes working in close collaboration with the US Affiliate, Global Funding Team, Accounts Payable, and the Vendor Data support team.


What you’ll do:

  • Coordinate and manage the end-to-end payment process of delegated external funding requests (donations, grants and sponsorships)
  • Reconcile approved funding requests with generated payments
  • Resolve open issues that prevent the successful general of payments including correction of budget data and collection of require vendor/organizational data that supports compliant release of funds
  • Maintain required documentation and communication history
  • Monitor and respond promptly to internal and external stakeholder queries
  • Fulfill any reporting requirements related to external funding (e.g. funding oversight), as applicable
  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of systems, procedures, and follow-up tools for projects, as applicable
  • Provide relevant feedback and training to stakeholders

  • Experience working in a matrix environment and effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience preferred with processing payment requests
  • Experience working in IT systems for funding (SmartSimple, VisionTracker etc) or other relevant workflow based systems (SAP payments)
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable industry codes (e.g. US industry codes of practices)
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, SAP and ability to learn and use new software.
  • Problem-solving mindset: Foresee problems and take effective measures to avoid them or mitigate their impact
