Raw Materials Manager

Position Summary: The major responsibilities of the Raw Materials Manager are to manage raw materials from order to usage, monitor and control glass composition and spectral properties through a combination of raw material and cullet usage. Other duties include support items such as defect identification, quality analysis and ensuring proper functioning of the batch house material weighing and delivery systems. The incumbent will be a part of the Float Technical Team and will be expected to work with the team on other related issues when necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Order raw materials for Float Operations.

• Calculate annual raw material usage for supply chain management.

• Determine daily batch material use and adjust supplier releases as needed.

• Project cullet use, track monthly inventory, and coordinate cullet management.

• Calculate batch changes, as required 24/7, to meet Float production schedule.

• Assist Fabrication Personnel with special batch or cullet needs (e.g. determine the weight of glass per square feet by thickness and color. Facilitate cullet salvage from the Fabrication Department).

• Generate monthly raw material usage inventory and report to accounting department.

• Generate monthly cullet inventory and report to accounting department.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or chemistry or another technical field required

• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing & laboratory environment desired but not required

• Experience in TS 16949 methods desired
