Night Shift: 2:30pm - 10:30pm


Job Summary

CNC Lead Programmer with experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills. You work highly dependently to program and set up CNC mill, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications. Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models and inputs the product design into the computer modeling software in a manufacturing environment. Design fixture for CNC machine when needed. During the manufacturing process, you will perform quality checks with the machine operator to ensure the program is producing parts according to specifications, making manual adjustments if necessary. You will also work with the engineers to look for product modifications that might reduce the amount of material or fabrication time. Although no formal education is required, applicants should be familiar with the computer-aided design programs Esprit.


Job Responsibilities

Programs and sets up CNC milling, lathe, or other production machinery according to blueprint specifications.

Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models then inputs product design into computer modeling software (SolidWorks and CAD/CAM).

Applies knowledge of mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances.

Adjusts machine settings to the desired product specifications and troubleshoots issues when appropriate.

Utilizes G or M code and CAM software (Esprit).

Tests accuracy of settings and programs.

Maintains a safe and orderly work area.

Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates.

Modify existing programs for different machines.

Maintain tooling database.

Make manual program adjustments as necessary.

Provides revision control of drawings or programs to maintain the fabrication of quality products to meet customer specifications.

Communicates and collaborates with production as a specialist in area of expertise – design and programming.

May assume a team lead role for the machining department when necessary.

Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process.

Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications, Education, Experience & Requirements

High school diploma or GED certificate.

Completion of a technical or associate degree program a plus.

Experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills.

Familiarity with Esprit.

Basic math skills.
