Shift: 1st shift Monday-Friday 7am-4:30pm until they are trained up roughly 1-2 months. Then it will move to a 5-2-2-5 schedule (5 days on 2 days off 2 days on 5 days off) 6pm-6am 12-hour shifts. Rotating days to nights every quarter. (Every other weekend is a 5 day weekend)


Must Haves:

  • 2+ years of HVAC experience in an industrial or commercial setting
  • Experience with or desire to learn refrigeration
  • Experience with mechanical troubleshooting on HVAC units, Air Handlers, and Air compressors
  • Ability to read P&ID’s – blueprints for mechanical systems and equipment
  • Experience working with a BAS system


Plus:

  • EPA certification also called Universal Certification
  • Pharma background
  • Any FDA regulated industry
  • Military background
  • Extensive industrial experience involving utility systems with a strong knowledge of HVAC, steam, potable water and knowledge of "APOGEE" BAS is preferred


Day to Day:

The HVAC&R Technician will provide maintenance supporting vaccine process equipment operations. Takes appropriate action to correct Plant Engineering maintenance problems. Responsible for supporting MMD (Merck Manufacturing Division) Divisional site mission by assuring quality of products and services are of the highest quality, optimal cost, and delivered on schedule. Responsible for supporting departmental vision that will provide for continuous improvement in all aspects of the operation. Must be able to function in a team-based empowered culture. Seeks ideas and information on how to improve customer service involving internal and external customers. Applies knowledge of the overall supply chain to efficiently complete work tasks.
