Primary Functions:
Troubleshooting, Maintenance, and Repair: Perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of production equipment and utilities. Ensure timely completion of work orders and tasks as assigned by the maintenance supervisor, engineering manager, or their delegate.
Installation and Maintenance: Safely and efficiently install, repair, and maintain various mechanical, rotating, and hydraulic equipment, as well as piping systems, to meet the plant's goals and objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the plant complies with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, fabricate, assemble, repair, clean, and service process equipment, including but not limited to mills, mixers, furnaces, boilers, pumps, hydraulics, ventilation, heat exchangers, filters, piping, and valves.
- Lubrication: Perform machine lubrication tasks, including draining and refilling oils and coolants from machinery.
- Equipment Security: Secure equipment and piping by brazing, cementing, soldering, welding, or threading joints.
- Downtime Reduction: Minimize production downtimes by ensuring no breakdowns occur and processes run efficiently.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect equipment to identify and report any defects or damages to the supervisor.
- Documentation: Accurately document all repairs and inspections.
- Task Completion: Complete all assigned tasks efficiently.
- Collaboration: Coordinate work with fellow team members and other departments.
- Emergency Response: Serve as a member of the plant spill response and remediation team.
- Physical Demands: Perform physically demanding tasks, including sustained kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs while carrying loads, ladder climbing, hand tool use, lifting up to 65 pounds, pushing/pulling carts, and working from heights on tanks and structures.
- Equipment Operation: Operate man lifts and forklifts.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, mechanical, and mathematical skills, including reading blueprints and schematics.
- Shift Flexibility: Be available for various shift schedules, including nights and weekends.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in an industrial plant maintenance environment (preferred).
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of electrical and PLC control systems (preferred).
