Overview: We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to join our team in Bethel, CT. This full-time, onsite role involves being the primary point of contact for end users requiring technical assistance through various channels, including phone, chat, in-person, or service tickets. You will provide both remote and on-site support for a range of IT equipment and software, ensuring smooth operation and user satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the initial contact for technical support requests via phone, chat, in-person, or service tickets.
  • Provide remote and on-site support for laptops, desktops, printers, firewalls, switches, access points, peripherals, and software applications.
  • Image and deploy laptops or workstations as needed.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues both remotely and in-person using diagnostic techniques and relevant questions.
  • Manage and triage support tickets, escalating and following up as necessary to ensure a positive user experience.
  • Identify problems and assist in developing long-term solutions.
  • Support and maintain conference room AV equipment, ensuring it remains operational.
  • Assist with facilities management and voice telecommunications support at on-site locations.
  • Maintain and update knowledge base articles and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Provide SmartHand Services and support for plant production software, hardware, and peripherals.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as the first point of contact for technical assistance via multiple channels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrated adaptability in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • General working knowledge of computer hardware/software and an understanding of supported products.
  • Familiarity with computer networking protocols, wireless network protocols, TCP/IP, and IPSEC VPN configuration.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of Help Desk/IT support experience and 2+ years of ITSM experience.
  • Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience/IT certification.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and Windows 7/10 is required.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers, including C-Level executives.
  • Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest IT and software trends.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional decorum.
