JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The RME Maintenance Planner is responsible for creating, overseeing, and coordinating maintenance plans and schedules, as well as ensuring the availability of spare parts to maintain the efficient operation and upkeep of plant equipment and facilities. This role requires collaboration with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to optimize maintenance activities, minimize downtime, and enhance overall productivity.


JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes Planning & Scheduling best practices through the development, discovery, and implementation of critical maintenance processes including preventive and predictive maintenance plan creation, critical spares analysis, parts kitting, and CMMS optimization activities.
  • Evaluates non-emergency work requests, develops scope of work, and inspects job location to determine job requirements.
  • Estimates labor hours, skillsets, parts, materials, equipment, and special tools required to complete proactive jobs in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Gathers relevant technical documentation such as drawings, schematics, specifications, spare parts lists from equipment histories, OEM manuals and the Knowledgebase system. Verifies the availability of parts prior to scheduling the job. Arrange for special tools and auxiliary equipment when required.
  • Organizes and prioritizes the work order backlog to identify the next highest priority jobs to be planned, ensuring the Ready Backlog remains at or above 80%.
  • Facilitates weekly scheduling meetings with Production and Maintenance to determine work order priorities, communicate work order status and alter planned maintenance activities if necessary.
  • Works with Maintenance, Facilities, and Production teams to develop a weekly technician schedule that prioritizes planned jobs and proactive maintenance tasks, ensuring the full utilization of available technician labor hours.
  • Improves work order planning and scheduling effectiveness through the review process and use of the maintenance metrics.
  • Maintains records and files essential to providing regular reports on maintenance performance, including metrics on downtime, maintenance costs, and equipment reliability.
  • Trains site employees on CMMS and ensures that it is working with integrity and is being utilized.
  • Perform regular audits of preventive maintenance plans, CMMS, and work order completion to ensure compliance, identify gaps or deficiencies, and enhance efficiency.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SAP
  • Knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement processes.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work well under deadlines, and ability to work well with a cross-functional team to accomplish results,
  • Ability to read and interpret technical plans, drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years of maintenance experience, preferably manufacturing, with a strong focus on mechanical and electrical maintenance planning.
  • 3+ years of experience with computerized maintenance management programs.
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning, preferably in a maintenance planning role.
