Responsibilities
Congregational care ministries
This begins with being aware of particular needs and responding with contact and visits as needed. The greater context of this ministry area will focus on building teams who practice caring for one another within the church.
Pastoral Leadership
Weekly staff meetings
Leadership conversations with the Lead Pastor
Attending community events, such as Chamber lunches, and other events that promote awareness in the community
Attend monthly Church Council meetings
Preach when the Lead Pastor is unavailable and on other occasions as needed.
Team Building
A key component of the Associate Pastor’s position will be that of building teams that communicate and share responsibilities for the health of the congregation. In each area of congregational care, the expectation is that the Associate Pastor will address needs by building teams from within the congregation to accomplish the necessary tasks.
Skills, Abilities, and Requirements
Will embrace and demonstrate Christian values.
Will have at least a bachelor’s degree in a ministry related discipline.
Must be comfortable in a theological environment that is within the scope of Wesleyan tradition.
Will demonstrate proven ability to work effectively with a congregation, diverse individuals, and teams of volunteers.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer competency.
Must have excellent people management skills.
