Position Summary:


The Cost Analyst/Accountant will be responsible for partnering with the Manager, Operations Finance / Business / Cross-Functional Team Members to report, optimize, and enhance the overall production cost cycle.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Assist the management and coordination of plant financial reporting and analysis: standard costs, capital projects, cost savings programs, month-end closings, working capital management and other related initiatives / activities.
  • Monitor manufacturing financial performance by analyzing results and initiating corrective actions to eliminate unfavorable plant manufacturing variances.
  • Review complex data and analytics from rolled up comprehensive sources for accuracy and provide information to support decision-making process.
  • Prepare plant reporting and ensure reporting is completed on time and w/out error. Ensure business/dept standards for reporting are met as well as prepared in accordance with internal/external guidelines and policies.
  • Stay abreast of changing requirements and communicates updates to functional or senior management.
  • Represent area of functional expertise on cross functional teams.
  • Manage day to day of cost accounting system, processes and procedures.
  • Assist in cost valuation of products in inventory for accuracy by reviewing Bill of Materials (BOMs), labor, routings, departments, work centers, crew sizes and material purchases.
  • Manage fixed asset Sage system and monitor capital appropriation request CAR activities
  • Report on excess and obsolete inventory along with recommendations to eliminate issues.
  • Review daily audit reports of changes to product structure, routing, cycle count and PO prices.
  • Estimate costs of new products and proposed changes to existing products.
  • Develop costs of new products entered in the system after confirming BOMs and routing of all components.
  • Review marketing promotions and deals to ensure accuracy of gross margin
  • Calculate and communicate transfer prices to divisions.
  • Identify cost improvement opportunities
  • Liaison between the accounting department, purchasing, planning, project engineers, marketing, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Entering various inventory and cost-related journal entries for the monthly US close.
  • Analyze scrap, machine down time, PPV, labor and overhead absorption costs.
  • Cost standard development for material, labor and overhead.
  • Distribute annual transfer prices to all the foreign divisions.
  • Work with the annual auditors to complete all audit work in cost and inventory.
  • Develop cost bridges highlighting variance drivers & root causes.
  • Assist with conducting year-end inventory.
  • KPI preparation and Ad-hoc analyses
  • Special projects



Education


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required



Knowledge/Experience


  • 3+ years of hands on manufacturing cost accounting/finance experience required.
  • Knowledge of inventory cost accounting principles including experience with standard costing and variance reporting.
  • Broad accounting and finance experience with exposure to a wide range of business functions and demonstrated leadership.
  • ERP/D365 or PRMS/AS400 knowledge a plus.
  • Proficient in automated financial/database systems.

  • Proficient in MS Office with high proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills as well as organizational skills.
