SUMMARY OF POSITION


The Director of Financial Planning will lead all Advisor Resource Center (ARC) functions within the organization. The ARC is a department that supports financial advisors in an effort to increase their billable hours and save them valuable time. The ARC department encompasses all financial planning services, diagnostic tools, advanced planning support, and firm wide training. This position is responsible for leading a team that provides services to advisors as supported by the ARC, with an emphasis on executing a dependable workflow for the financial planning process. This is a support-based position that will reinforce the ARC’s initiatives. We’re looking for someone with experience in financial services that is highly organized, able to learn quickly and proficiently, communicates well, and is able to work both independently and lead a team. This position is salaried and is not a sales position in any capacity.


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Financial Planning

  • Develop and write comprehensive financial plans in the areas of retirement planning, protection planning, cash flow and debt management, investment strategies, college planning, tax planning, estate and business planning
  • Create detailed action plans for clients to be able to follow to reach their financial goals
  • Communicate with clients as necessary to obtain financial data
  • Participate in client meetings with advisors as necessary
  • Manage all workflows of the ARC
  • Track financial planning process and prepare correspondence
  • Train advisors/advisor’s assistants on financial planning software usage and functionality


Advisor Resource Center

  • Train, supervise, and develop financial planning and support staff
  • Provide the following from various software:

Morningstar reports

BroadRidge education pieces and calculators

Social Security Timing reports

Holistiplan

  • Conduct and facilitate training as needed at firm-wide meetings and events to create awareness and excitement surrounding the ARC and its services
  • Support department with any other initiatives as determined by WCG leadership


Employment Requirements


  • Advanced knowledge of eMoney financial planning software as well as knowledge on other financial planning tools
  • Certified Financial Planner Designation (CFP®) required
  • 5-7 years of industry experience (either in other leadership roles, support positions or as an advisor)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (emphasis in business and/or financial services a plus)
  • Highly organized, able to learn quickly, good problem-solving skills, proficient, and communicates well
  • Able to work both independently and on a team


Compensation

  • Starting salary is commensurate with experience with a range from $90,000 to $130,000

We are looking to hire this position either out of San Diego, CA or Las Vegas, NV.
