Trade Show and Event Manager 

 

We are looking for a competent Trade Show and Event Manager to oversee and organize events that will make an impact to a target audience. You’ll ensure events are successful, engaging, and cost-effective, paying attention to all details – whether it is a trade show, a hands-on course, a national sales meeting, or a webinar.

An event manager is, above all, a project manager who understands marketing and promotion techniques. We want to see enthusiastic candidates with fresh ideas and the organizational skills required to not leave anything about an event to chance. We are a small but growing company looking for the right fit for our team who can have a vision for events and roll up his/her sleeves to get things done.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our yearly calendar of trade shows, planning and executing our annual National Sales Meeting and working with our Sales team to execute quarterly review meetings and smaller, regional events throughout the year - managing all aspects from material preparation, vendor coordination, and shipping logistics to on-site management.

This position demands a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Main Area of Responsibilities:

·        Lead the planning and coordination of assigned projects with all internal and external stakeholders, ensure events or workshops are aligned with the overall company strategy and calendar. 

·        Plan trade shows, workshops, events, and meetings from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives. 

·        Oversee all event logistics with vendors, including contracts, theme ideation, site inspections, agency management as well as all logistical details in the planning process and on-site (food, AV, electricity, build up, tear down, etc). 

·        Prepare budgets, ensure adherence, and track costs and return on investment. 

·        Enter all event specifics in an appropriate platform for all continuing education events such as Endo Tour hands-on courses.

·        Lead promotional activities for events.

·        Set the tone and expectations for all events with team attending events.

·        Outfit company employees with promotional and corporate branded apparel and giveaways so the Komet brand is recognized consistently both internally and externally. 

·        Ensure events are completed smoothly and step up to resolve any problems that might occur.

·        Analyze each event's success and report back to team. 

·        Come up with suggestions to enhance the event's success.  

·        Maintain good interdepartmental communications between all internal departments and external field sales staff. 

·        Sustain a flexible and adaptable attitude to the work of the team. 

·        Coordinates the preparation of all items needed at events and oversees timely shipment.  

·        Undertake any other duty commensurate with this post as determined by the Director of Marketing and Product Management. 

·        Other duties as assigned: internal meetings, travel arrangements, customer dinners, new hire training support, etc. 


Education/Experience Requirements


·        Bachelor’s Degree in PR, marketing, hospitality management or related field is preferred 

·        Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as event, tradeshow and/or workshop manager/specialist 

·        Experience with CE events preferred 

·        Strong negotiation skills 

·        Experience with managing event agencies, production companies and third-party event suppliers 

·        Skilled in project management  

·        Outstanding communication and negotiation ability  

·        Excellent organizational skills 

·        Excellent Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 

·        A knack for problem-solving  

·        Customer-service orientation  

·        Strong team spirit, hands-on, problem solver 


Reports to: Professional Relationships and Education Senior Manager


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This salaried position offers flexible work hours with a hybrid of 3 days to be at the office. Additional onsite days could be required as needed. 


Travel

Approximately 10-15% travel required. The duties of this position might require weekend, evening, and night work to meet the needs of the events activities and meetings.
